Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
Scan Card is made by Great Work LLC ("we"). This policy explains what the Scan Card iPhone app does with your information.
Your data stays on your iPhone
The business cards you scan, their images, and the contact details Scan Card reads from them are stored only on your iPhone. Text recognition runs on the device. A card is added to your Contacts only when you tap Add to Contacts. It is never sent to us, never used for advertising, and never sold. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Permissions
- Camera: Used only while you scan a card. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Contacts: Used only to add a card to Contacts when you tap Add to Contacts. Scan Card doesn't read your existing contacts. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts.
No account
Scan Card has no sign-up or login. We don't collect your name, email address or contacts.
Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. If you allow tracking when iOS asks (App Tracking Transparency), Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show more relevant ads; if you don't, ads are not personalized. Google may collect device information such as your IP address and device model to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before any ad is requested, and you can change it later from Privacy Choices in the More tab. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases
Scan Card Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details.
Children
Scan Card is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
